Deadline approaches to apply for key residency permit.
Time is running out for UK nationals living in France permanently to apply for an important document.
Before 1 July 2021, all UK passport holders – and their dependents – must apply for the new Withdrawal Agreement Residency Permit (WA RP), even if they already possess a European Carte de Séjour. This applies to anyone who moved to France before 31 December 2020.
Last December, the EU/UK trade and cooperation agreement was finalised.
This deal requires all UK nationals who wish to remain living in France to hold a right of residence (droit au séjour) permit by 1 October 2021. Even if you already hold a residency permit, or wish to obtain French nationality, you still need to apply.
The UK and French governments have both published information on the WA RP – in English. The links are here:
How to apply
This government website contains the portal for all online applications: click here
Please note that CA Britline is unable to assist with handling any enquiries relating to the WA RP.
There is a private Facebook group called WA Carte de Séjour for British citizens in France (also known as WARP) which may be of help. There is also a UK Nationals Support Fund (UKNSF): applying for residency in EU or EFTA countries.
Good luck with your application.
