- Yes – if you have selected Option Panne (optional breakdown cover) when subscribing to Pacifica’s House & Contents insurance. This option can provide breakdown cover on large electrical goods for a maximum of 6 years.
- Please note that accidental damage is not covered by household insurance in France.
- Yes - You need to take precautions to prevent water pipes etc. from leaking or freezing and ensure that your home is securely locked. On secondary residence there is no requirement concerning the number of days that the property must be occupied.
- Yes – All Pacifica’s motor policies automatically include breakdown assistance at no extra cost, even from your doorstep. (With many other insurers, cover only starts when you are a certain distance from home). Additionally cover is provided during your trips to the UK and other countries covered by the Carte Verte (Green Card) for up to 90 consecutive days.
- As an option, you can upgrade to include Panne Auto which also covers the cost of certain replacement parts and labour, enabling you to extend the period of guarantee offered by the manufacturer.
- Yes – providing the garage or outbuilding is included in your contract and is securely locked in accordance with Pacifica’s conditions.
- For sit-on lawnmowers, additional cover is required. Please contact us for a quote.
- No – after 3 years without a claim, and to reward you for your loyalty, you will be exempt from paying the policy general excess fee for your next claim. (2)
- No – policies can only be cancelled in three circumstances:
- Sale of the property or insured item (you need to provide proof of sale)
- At the annual renewal date (you must provide written notification 2 months in advance)
- Upon receipt of your renewal notice (you have 20 days from the date stated on the letter in which to cancel)
- If you wish to change insurer, Britline can arrange the cancellation of your existing policy on your behalf, at no extra cost. Contact us 3 to 4 months prior to the renewal date and we will do the rest.
